Jean Monnet Chair on PM2EU+
Short CV
I am a professor of engineering projects at the University of Granada (Spain) and before dedicating myself to the academic world I have worked for the construction company, the consulting firm and the local administration. In all cases in positions related to project, program or portfolio management.
My relationship with PM2
I knew the PM2 methodology three years ago. The truth is that at first I was surprised because I had been studying for many years the different PM & RiskM methodologies and and I had never heard about PM2. For my peace of mind I could see that the open and free version of PM2, OpenPM2, has just been launched by the European Commission.
Since then I have tried to study it and I have participated in the translation into Spanish of, firstly, the synthesis document, and later on all the methodology and its artefacts.
Positive aspects
I believe that one of the great pros of OpenPM2 is the open character, the availability of all the artefacts (templates)for the whole project's life cycle and the possibility of adapting them to a project.
Points of Improvement
When I studied the methodology in depth, Icould realized that it has been generated in the field of ICT projects. I personally believe that there is still a long way to walk and it is necessary to dedicate efforts to adapt the methodology to projects in fields such as construction, cooperation, security and defense, research and development, etc.
